La Olla is a Mexican kitchen led by partners Joei Miu and Antonio Aguilar, inspired by a family story built around food, flavor, and hospitality.
After immigrating from Vietnam to Los Angeles, Joei’s father opened a Mexican restaurant in Lincoln Heights — a kitchen filled with vibrant spices, bright citrus, and the steady energy of a neighborhood restaurant. Growing up around that restaurant shaped Joei’s deep appreciation for traditional Mexican dishes and the bold flavors that define them.
Today, Joei and Antonio continue that spirit inside Blossom Market Hall in San Gabriel’s Mission District, serving crowd favorites like quesabirrias with rich consommé, asada tacos, tinga tacos, al pastor tacos, ceviche, nachos, and burritos — made fresh to order and packed with vibrant, spice-forward flavor.
From crispy, cheese-lined birria tacos dipped into deeply seasoned broth to citrusy ceviche with a kick, La Olla delivers Mexican comfort food with heat and heart in San Gabriel.
Guests may also find occasional house-made desserts like panna cotta, adding a sweet finishing touch to a bold and satisfying meal.
Whether stopping in for a quick bite or gathering with friends, La Olla has been bringing approachable Mexican street food and generous flavor to Blossom Market Hall since 2021.
“The Chicken Tinga in particular is a dish that I’ve never really enjoyed anywhere else, but La Olla’s version is tender and flavorful. The tostada in particular was just so crisp with lots of refreshing, crunchy elements. The quesabirria taco was really flavorful and delicious as well. Loved these!” – Yelp Reviewer
“Wow, the burrito? That is hella amazing. Now every time I go there I get a burrito. Best burrito ever. I love the burrito. If I had to describe the burrito in one word, it’d be good, nah, better than good, great! Hrmm, actually, amazing, or spectacular. Well nontheless the burrito sure is scrumptious. And the side of chips and sauce, o ma gah, i die of joy.” – Yelp Reviewer
“Seriously one of the best tacos (tinga) I’ve ever had and I’m from LA! Super affordable too. Gotta eat there though while the tortilla is hot!” – Yelp Reviewer
